Working professionally since age 15, James has nearly 20 years experience working in the music industry.
Throughout his career James has navigated diverse landscapes including function bands, weddings, corporate events, cabarets, and music theatre. His accolades include a Green Room Award for musical direction and participation is renowned festivals such as the Melbourne International Comedy Festival and Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Not confined to live performances, James boasts extensive experience in recording sessions, composition, charting, and band leadership.
As an educator, James brings over a decade of experience, nurturing students in his thriving private studio. His teaching philosophy, diverging from conventional exam-based approaches, prioritises contemporary music, practical chord theory, scale/chord techniques, and improvisation in popular genres.
Drawing upon his wealth of industry insight, James has developed "Wicked Keys," a cutting-edge piano/keyboard methodology emphasising modern music, techniques, theory, and technology.
